Tips in Having Your First Date at a Bar and Restaurant
Not everyone can afford to have their first date at a fancy hotel. Moreover, times have changed and people are now beginning to embrace that even serious meetings such as a business deal signing event can be held at a bar and a restaurant. Long gone are days when first dates used to be a matter of life and death and the people involved would go to great lengths to impress. This created undue pressure and in some cases even caused the relationship to break before it could take off.
Rules on First Dates at Bars and Restaurants
- Choose a highly reviewed one: It is your first date. You do not want to ruin it by going to a poorly rated bar and restaurant and then spending most of your time complaining about poor food, drinks and services. Good reviews give assurance of at least having a good time.
- Consult with your date: If you are going to a restaurant and bar for your first date, it is only fair that you consult with your date on whether they are okay with a particular restaurant. This will give them an opportunity to check out the menu and know if they will enjoy what is served. If you are nervous about what to order for the first date, some of the foods that are considered “date safe” have helped quite a number of people.
- Check the price: Knowing the price range of the foods and drinks helps in deciding if the bar and restaurant will be ideal. Even if your date has said they will be paying, do not take the risk of walking into a restaurant that you cannot afford. Anything could happen and you do not want to deal with the embarrassment that follows.
- Drink in moderation: If the date is at a pub, it can be tempting to indulge in alcohol. The nervousness and trying to impress can push you to drink more and more. Do not do it. Not only does it make you vulnerable to physical and sexual abuse, but it also ruins the potential for a second date.
